Analytics started as the platform’s activity log and grew into something bigger: a service a client project can send its own datasets to, with A19’s own platform events as one preset rather than the design. That change is what makes it a product rather than a piece of internal plumbing.
By using Analytics for monitoring the A19 Services suite itself, we're able to make sure the service is ready for anything, and have the added benefit of users being able to see their A19 usage alongside the metrics relevant to their project, whether that's website visits or temperature and humidity from an embedded device.
What it does
- Event ingest with a platform envelope
- Schema inference over arbitrary datasets
- An emitter shared through the platform’s contracts package
- Cross-service activity feed, rendered on Interchange dashboards
- Audit stays local to each service by design; only the view is central
